I am a big fan of retro games and I get excited when I see repackages of smaller retro games in one single package be it in the form of remasters or remakes for the modern systems.
IREM Collection Volume 2 is one such collection hosting a collection of great games like Gun Force 1 and 2 and Air duel.
Air Duel is originally from 1990s and is a shoot-em up and is a typical shooter that you would expect from its genre. It consists of seven stages and runs smooth throughout with an arsenal of upgrades to choose from and has support for local 2 player coop as well.
Upon starting the game, you are greeted with 2 options namely Casual and Classic Modes. The difference between both of them is Classic Mode will have trophies and rankings which is exactly how you should be playing.
Casual mode has options like Rewind which can be used if you die to rewind time before your death and has cheats included as well.
You can also change the wallpapers on both sides of the screen as well as change the way the game looks via changing color and shader style to match your vibe.
Gun Force 1 and 2 on the other hand are intense bullet-hell run n gun games that are heavily inspired by the Metal slug franchise.
What makes Gun Force unique is its gameplay elements, level design and boss fights. It has a total of 6 stages with lots of weapons to choose from and has both air and ground enemies to fight and obliterate.
The best part about this collection is that both the Arcade as well as Super Nes versions of the game are included for double the fun in single package.
Gun force II is an expanded and diverse version of the first game delivering better gameplay, levels and graphics. Its dual-wielding weapon mechanic is what separates it over its predecessor and what makes it the best.
Just like metal slug series, you can commander both air and ground vehicles and slay enemies while dual-wielding weapons when outside vehicles. This also has local 2 player coop as expected and is nice to have.

Irem Collection Volume 2 Review
Conclusion
Irem Collection Volume 2 delivers a solid trio of bullet hell action experience and gives a good sense of nostalgia among old players meanwhile giving new players a sense of what retro games felt back in the day. All in all a solid collection to own and highly recommended by us.
