As a huge arcade fan, getting to know about an arcade classic fighting collection game from Capcom has sent chills down my spine.
After huge hits and epic comebacks from Capcom with titles like “Devil May Cry 5,” “Resident Evil” remakes, and newer sequels, they are now back again with a bang with their new “Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics” for modern systems.
This bundle includes a total of seven titles: “Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter,” “X-Men vs. Street Fighter,” both “Marvel vs. Capcom” games, “X-Men: Children of the Atom,” “Marvel Super Heroes,” and the famous beat-em-up classic, “The Punisher.”
This entire package has brought back nostalgic moments from those days at the arcade machines and those amazing one-liners from multiple characters that we are fond of.
When you start the game, you have the option of choosing which game you want to play, and as soon as it boots, you can quickly enter and exit without much interruption, which is a plus.
On the character selection screen, you get the usual options like Manual or Easy and Normal vs. Turbo modes. All of the games keep their intended gameplay styles and visuals, which is nice with its added upscaling for modern platforms.
The pause screen consists of several options, including the usuals like Move List, where you can check out your character’s combos and techniques.
The Display settings have options like changing the display size, side wallpapers, and also the filter, which can change the way the game looks and feels. You can also quick load or save your progress from here.
Gameplay and performance are very smooth and have no hiccups anywhere. Every game here loads quickly and doesn’t interrupt your immersive gaming experience.
Trophies are supported, which is a huge plus and further motivates you to replay the titles to get the platinum.
Combos between characters work as intended, and the visual spectacle it represents is exactly why the games are loved even to this day, as there is no competition when it comes to the experience.
My favorite game in this entire bundle is obviously “Marvel vs. Capcom 2” as its brilliant design, artwork, and super-fast gameplay with its amazing roster of characters take the lead.
New additions here are the modern online play options and the museum gallery, which add a lot of value to this great bundle.
The only con here is the similarities between all the games, as assets have been reused, and after a while, they all feel similar in taste.

Capcom continues its winning streak by releasing a wonderful collection of fighting titles under one roof and providing a convenient online option with remastered visuals for modern platforms without changing the authenticity of the original games.
