ASUS Announces the Dual GeForce RTX 2070 MINI Graphics Card

Its CES 2020 season and with that comes fresh new tech news and we start off with ASUS.

Today Asus announced their new graphics card for Intel® NUC 9 Extreme Kit and Intel NUC 9 Pro Kit, as well as other small-form-factor (SFF) solutions. This is the new Dual GeForce RTX 2070 MINI Graphics card.

Kent Chien, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Multimedia Business Unit at ASUS, said,

“We are proud that Intel came to us for a GPU solution for their innovative new design and are very satisfied with the performance we are able to squeeze into such a small footprint.” “The Intel NUC team is excited to be working with ASUS to enable high-end innovative graphics solutions in the mini-PC ecosystem,” said Joel Christensen, Intel NUC General Manager. “High performance in small solutions provides great opportunities for our customers.”

Key Features:

  • Specifically designed for the new Intel® NUC 9 Extreme Kit and Intel NUC 9 Pro Kit (Ghost Canyon), and delivers thermal performance similar to larger cards
  • Latest Axial-tech fan technology, used in top-end ROG graphics cards, ensures cool operation when gaming on the Intel® NUC 9 and other SFF systems
  • Two-slot design is less than 20 cm long to maximize compatibility with the Intel® NUC 9 Extreme Kit, Intel NUC 9 Pro Kit and other SFF chassis

Working closely with Intel, ASUS created a compact card that fits precisely into the Intel NUC 9 Extreme Kit and Intel NUC 9 Pro Kit. To keep temperatures in check, the shroud, heatsink, and heat pipe layout were designed to benefit as much as possible from the chassis’ mesh side panel. Additionally, two Axial-tech fans provide high static pressure for even more cooling gains. Originally crafted for top-end ROG graphics cards, Axial-tech fans feature a smaller hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring to whisk air efficiently through the entire heatsink. The cooling solution is so effective that it delivers lower GPU temperatures than many larger cards

Its good to see small form factors returning the market as its sometimes very under appreciated. Good to see Asus taking this market seriously and coming up with newer products to fill in the space.
