NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (Ti) Max-Q
The new, yet unannounced, Max-Q graphics card has been spotted in Linux driver changelog. The GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q would be the last GTX 10 series card to be included in more power efficient (and slightly slower) variants known as Max-Q.
Max-Q cards offer better performance than the normal notebook/laptop versions of GPU’s and are more power efficient as well.
It seems that the new card is aiming directly at recently announced RX Vega M GL integrated into Intel EMIB. The faster variant of this solution (GH) is ‘officially’ offering slightly better performance than GTX 1060 Max-Q, so the GTX 1050 Max-Q is more likely to compete with RX Vega GL with 20 CUs.
Of Course, Nvidia will not be making any official announcements regarding new SKUs, so keep your eyes on GeForce website for more details.
