Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced PS5 Pro Review

I always wanted to play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag as it was the only one in the series that I had missed

Now, thanks to this remake, I was able to play and enjoy the game, and I got to say that this is easily the best AC game I have ever played

You play as Edward James Kenway, a privateer-turned-pirate, who is seeking to become rich and wants to live a lavish lifestyle but has sadly gotten mixed up in the fight between the templars and the assassin’s

Edward’s selfish nature and dangerous thrill-seeking treasure hunting skills has somewhat made him an anti-hero in this game which makes him a unique character in black flag.

Even though I haven’t played the original game and saw few gameplay clips on YouTube for my research, Resynced has been built completely from the ground up in terms of combat fluidity and graphics/world building.

NPC’s look alive and most of them have great detail and depth. City looks lived in as well and every city now has more character into it

The combat is super fluid with various combinations of moves and finishers and I haven’t had any bugs on my playthrough so far which is a huge plus

The entire world map has been given a complete overhaul with plenty of side missions and naval missions to choose from including treasure quests and puzzles

Edward’s ship, the Jackdaw, fights beautifully well in the sea while having a smooth sail throughout your journey

The entire crew which only keeps growing as you play, sing songs while sailing which gives you an amazing feel of sailing across the wide sea.

As you progress, you can unlock different weapon system and defensive capabilities of the Jackdaw which lets you fight tougher opponents at sea later.

Naval missions and ship to ship fights are really well though-out and is just fun to play. Repairing the jackdaw or removing wanted level after a fight feels reliving after a tough battle.

The inventory and upgrade systems are the same with the usual UI present that we all know of and works as intended

You can buy/sell weapons or upgrade your ship from vendors and also find new weapons from various chests as well.

Fast travel in Black flag works as intended between different cities and when not in combat, you can go anywhere you please as long as you have synchronized the areas.

And yes, you can also pet the cat as well so kudos for that

The graphics is what makes resynced feel like a completely new game and complements the original game really well here.

The lush forests and detailed interiors with smooth and wavy water currents make the game look very good and sharp

Each and every synchronized area of the map gives you a breathtaking view of the nearby city landscapes or oceanic views of the island depending on where you are which feels good to explore

Performance has been solid for me no matter which preset I chose and haven’t had any fps dips on my playthrough on any of them

Under-water areas have lot of loot to collect as well so make sure to go diving sometimes while you’re at sea

Apart from Graphics, facial animations and cutscenes have been improved as well

Not only Edward, but the rest of the crew and other important NPC’s now have good facial animations and detailing in them which keeps your immersed fully into this world

You can unlock newer songs for your jackdaw’s crew by running and catching lyrics spread across the map on certain roof areas of the cities alongside plenty of abnormalities to unlock as well

Conclusion

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has shown how a remake should be made while keeping everything that made the original game so good absolutely intact. Everything has been improved upon, and this is easily the best way to enjoy this game.
